The Emirate of Ras al Khaiinah is famous for its pleasant
climate, towering mountains, thick forests and lush green
farmland. Since the old tunes, it was considered an important
trading centre and a vital link between East and West. Through
the ages, seafarers used to rest in Julfar, presently known
as Ras Al Khaimah, and from there came the master seafarer,
Captain Bin Majid, popularly known as the lion of the sea.
He was an expert and connoisseur in the art and principles
of navigation.
