Dilli Travel Tips

Dilli
is the capital city of East Timor. It is situated on the northern coast of the island on Ombai Strait and has a population of around 60,000. It is the chief port, and commercial centre of the country. The city manufactures soap, perfume, pottery, and textiles; coffee is processed. Exports include cotton, coffee, rice, wheat, sandalwood, wool, copra, and processed hides.

What to wear

Due to the hot humid climate light clothes made of natural fiber materials such as cotton should be worn. The wearing of clothing made from artificial fiber materials such as nylon is not recommended. Sweaters may be required at night during the cool season or if visiting the mountainous areas.

Visas

International visitors to East Timor are required be in possession of a valid passport and visa to obtain entry into the country. Visas, which are valid for 30 days, are issued on arrival in the country on payment of the proscribed fee.

Health

International visitors to East Timor are not required to have vaccinations unless they have visited a Yellow-Fever infected area in the past.
